Cable Bay Overflight I

Posted by
~~~Ann~~~ (Nelson, New Zealand) on 5 December 2018 in Landscape & Rural.
Thanks to Air New Zealand for relatively clean aircraft windows! This was taken a month or so ago on a flight from Nelson to Auckland. We passed over Cable Bay, one of my favourite photo spots. In this image you can see Pepin Island with Delaware Bay to above it, and Cable Bay below. Both Delaware Bay and Cable Bay are separated from the Tasman Bay by boulder banks. Yesterday's image was taken from the Cable Bay Walkway from Ataata Point. Imagine standing on the coastal cliffs at the bottom left hand corner of this image and looking down towards the small peninsula (Bishops Peninsula) that extends into Delaware Bay. Here's a map to help you decipher the geography.
